Job Autopilot is built to keep your job search on your own computer. This page explains what stays there and the little that doesn't.
What stays on your computer
Your profile, resume, saved answers, searches, the jobs found and your application history are stored only on your device, inside the app. Your LinkedIn and Indeed logins stay in the app's own browser session (or your browser), exactly as when you browse yourself. We never receive your passwords.
What reaches our service
- Licensing: your license key, a random installation id, your plan and its expiry. Lemon Squeezy, our reseller, holds your name, email and payment details for the purchase.
- Job Autopilot AI (only if you turn it on): the text needed for each request, such as your resume text when reading it, or a form question with your profile summary and the job description. Requests are passed to our AI provider (OpenAI) to produce the answer and are not stored by us; we keep only a count of requests per day for plan limits. OpenAI does not use API data to train its models.
- Usage stats and error reports (off unless you opt in): event counts such as "run finished, 4 applied" and error messages with emails and link parameters removed. Never your profile, resume, answers, or which jobs you applied to.
- Feedback you send from the app, with the email you choose to add.
- Early access: the email and the answers you give on the early access form (the kind of job you want, where you apply, your computer, and anything you write in the optional fields), used to send your invite and to plan the beta.
Your own AI key
If you use your own OpenAI or Anthropic key, requests go straight from your computer to that provider under your account and its terms; they never pass through us.
Retention and your rights
Usage events are kept for up to 18 months, feedback, waitlist emails and early access answers until you ask us to delete them, and license records as long as required for accounting. You can ask for a copy or deletion of anything we hold at privacy@jobautopilot.app. Uninstalling the app removes everything it stored on your computer; "Clear data" in the Dashboard removes your history at any time.
